Teaching, Research, and Community
Dr. Verter serves as a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at Yale School of Medicine, where he teaches residents and fellows in both clinical and surgical settings. He has co-authored peer-reviewed publications in journals including Ophthalmology, Journal of AAPOS, and The Laryngoscope, and received a grant from the Yale Diabetes Research Center for his study "Contrast Sensitivity as an Early Detection for Diabetic Retinopathy," conducted from 2018 to 2020. He lives in Wilton, Connecticut, with his family, and is an avid endurance athlete who has completed multiple triathlons and marathons.
Retinal disease often unfolds over years, which means the patients I see become part of my life over the long arc of their care. Helping someone hold on to their sight, one visit and one decision at a time, is the deepest privilege of this work.
